A project of Cornell Cinema, coordinates four to eight site touring circuit of independent media artists in upstate New York. Through a listserv, Cornell Cinema helps exhibitors and colleges share resources and expenses to bring artists into classrooms and screening rooms.

The Center provides a number of services to artists and organizations. It administers a technical assistance fund for consultations and a travel/registration subsidy for professional development opportunities for NYS media arts organizations. The Center also provides support to organizations through the Presentation Fund which offers matching funds for artists to appear with their work at public screenings and panels.

AIVF offers support and resources to independent artists. Serves independent producers through seminars, publications on distribution and exhibition opportunities, a website, seminars, and "The Independent" monthly magazine.


Independent Feature Project (IFPNY)

Funding for distribution of recently completed work is administered by the Independent Feature Project (IFP) in New York City.   Support is available for professional independent media artists residing in New York State only. Film, video, sound art, and new media works are eligible for grants up to $5,000 annually. Contact IFPNY for more information.


Independent Media Art Preservation (IMAP)

IMAP is a service and advocacy consortium providing information on preservation of independent media art. IMAP provides online resources for cataloguing and care of collection materials. It also maintains a listserv that reaches an international audience.

It provides information for independent producers and nonprofit media arts organizations. Offers grant programs for collaborative projects outside of the metropolitan area.

THE STANDBY PROGRAM is a non-profit media arts service organization that provides artists and non-profit organizations access to state-of-the-art film, video, audio and digital post production services at greatly reduced rates. The program operates out of several top-rated post-production studios located in New York City. Services include video and audiotape preservation, restoration and technical consultation.
