Architects, New York Chapter The New York City chapter of the national professional association of architects offers workshops and exhibitions and publishes the booklet "You and Your Architect", a succinct and helpful document for organizations considering a capital project. Essex Community
Heritage Organization Regional historic preservation service organization that provides education programs, advocacy, and housing and economic revitalization initiatives to individuals, nonprofits, and communities in Essex County in the eastern Adirondacks. Offers consulting in architecture, architectural conservation, and land use planning with funds from NYSCA's Architecture, Planning and Design Program. New York City
Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) The NYC Department of Cultural Affairs through its Community Arts Development Program offers small capital grants for renovation/rehabilitation, improvements and capital fixtures. Using construction plans and specifications provided by the applicant, DCA will solicite bids from qualified contractors, assist in overseeing the construction and pay the contractors directly. of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Offers help in planning for accessibility of a historic site. Nonprofit Finance Fund Offers loans, financial advisory services and workshops to mid-sized New York City arts organizations undertaking capital projects and/or building working capital. Its Nonprofit Business Analysis Program helps organizations deal with the changing financial climate after 9/11. Pratt Institute Provides architectural and planning services, training and organizational capacity building assistance, and public policy research and advocacy to low and moderate income communities in New York City and the Hudson Valley. Assists nonprofit cultural organizations in underserved areas with facilities construction projects and community planning efforts. Preservation League of
New York State Statewide historic preservation service organization that provides technical and legal services, maintains a legislative network, sponsors conferences and workshops, and awards grants. Regrants funds for NYSCA's Architecture, Planning, and Design Program for historic preservation documentation projects. The League is also the steward of the Colleagues Network, a network of over 30 staffed, community-based historic preservation organizations across the State.
