Funding for Artists
Experimental Television
Center (ETC) The Center administers NYSCA regrant funds through the Finishing Fund, a source of completion funding for independent media arts productions. The maximum award is $1,500. ETC also offers a residency program for electronic media artists. free103point9 Funding for distribution of recently completed work is administered
by the free103point9 in Greene County. Support is available for
professional independent media artists residing in New York State only.
Film, video, sound, new-media, and media-installation works are
eligible for grants up to $10,000 annually. Successful grantees are
also awarded the opportunity to work with a project mentor who will
offer guidance as grantees execute their distribution and exhibition

Foundation The Foundation is a regional organization of state agencies which offer programs that encourages exchanges and the sharing of resources within the region. Provides support through grants, technical assistance, and information to artists and arts organizations. New York Foundation for
the Arts NYFA serves artists with funding, information, advocacy, and fiscal sponsorship needs. NYFA Source, an on-line guide, is the most extensive national database of awards, services, and publications for artists of all disciplines. With major funding from NYSCA, NYFA's Artist Fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis in sixteen disciplines or practices to artists in NYS. The $7000 fellowships in each discipline are available in alternate years. Volunteer Lawyers for
the Arts Provides free and low-cost legal assistance for artists and arts organizations state-wide. Researches and compiles data on legal issues affecting the arts community. Note for visual artists A network of organizations provide artist workspaces with stipends and technical support in a number of disciplines. These can be viewed at www.nysawc.org. |
