  Services to the Field

Services to the Field offers support to service organizations , and for activities that provide managerial, artistic, or information services to individual theatre artists and/or organizations. These services may include publications, professional development through workshops, symposia and roundtables, managerial support, informational resources, projects that utilize technology, subsidized space for rehearsals and performances, festivals, and initiatives extending beyond the scope of an organization's general programming. Organizations may make one request in this category. All applicants to the Services to the Field category are strongly encouraged to consult with Program staff well in advance of the March registration deadline.


Application Instructions

The on-line application form includes the following questions, and a project budget. Required support materials are listed below.

Application Narrative Questions

1. Program Summary
Briefly describe the service and how it relates to other programs in your organization.  

2. Audience
Describe the audience for this service, in terms of target population, volume and level of use. And, where relevant, describe how it differs from or complements comparable programs. Summarize the selection process, if one is required for participation in the project.

3. Delivery
Describe how your organization can effectively deliver these services, in terms of technical, administrative, and information capacity. If a website or listserv is part of the service, how does it support the service(s) and how is it maintained?

4. Project Staff
Describe the staff, advisors, and consultants providing the service, summarizing their credentials and roles. If selection of project personnel is pending, describe the qualifications of individuals being sought.

5. Marketing
How is your organization marketing this service?

6. Evaluation
Describe your methods for ongoing assessment and evaluation of the services. If the proposed project is a one-time event, what are your intended outcomes and how will they be assessed?


Support Materials

Support materials must be postmarked or hand-delivered to the program by the application deadline. If you want support materials returned, provide a self-addressed stamped envelope.

1. Sample brochures or publications (2 copies per item)

2. Sample questionnaires, in-take forms, or evaluations of the services

3. Sample list of people or organizations that have benefited/will benefit from the services
