Registration deadline: February 22, 2011 The Presentation category offers support to experienced presenters of live professional performing arts. Funding is directed toward costs of specific professional performing arts presentations. Prerequisites Applicants must present a minimum of five performances by five different professional artists over five separate dates. The Program considers a festival day to be a single performance even when several artists are presented throughout the day. Festival-only presenters must present a minimum of three multiple performance days. Application Instructions The online application form includes the questions below. Applicants are also required to submit: online Organizational Budget for the current fiscal year, Project Budget (please use the Budget Notes section to detail income and expense items), Event Schedule, Cultural Data Project Report and support materials. Please note that your request amount should not exceed 50% of the total Project Budget. First-time applicants are required to call staff before the registration deadline. Application Narrative Questions Artistic/Programmatic 1. About Your Organization 2. Program Summary 3. Developments and Challenges 4. Proposed Presentations and Artists List the roster of artists you will present. Provide a description of the program content. Highlight some of the lesser-known artists you intend to present. With your support materials, include a bio no longer than half a page for each artist you are presenting. Note: Complete the Event Schedule form (found by clicking on the "Supplemental Forms" tab on your webpage). Include projected information pertaining to the presentations for the proposed year and actual information for the past year. Managerial/Fiscal 5. Project Context 6. Project Staff 7. Finances Describe sources of funding (other than NYSCA) and fundraising strategy for this project. Provide detail regarding both secured and pending funding sources. Support Materials Support Material Support material must be postmarked, hand-delivered, or made available online by the application deadline. IMPORTANT NOTE: Refer to the Instructions for Work Samples and Support Materials prior to submission. NYSCA encourages the submission of Web-based Work Samples and Support Material whenever possible. 1. Copies of available contracts, letters of agreement or intent dated and signed by the presenter and the performing artists. Signatures by artist representatives must be clearly identified in print and by signature. Email communication which clearly indicates mutual agreement is acceptable. All documentation must include the dates and location of projected performances and agreed-upon guaranteed minimum artist fees. 2. Two representative marketing pieces for current presentations (2 copies). 3. Representative sample of house programs (2 copies). 4. Biographies of proposed artist, company, ensemble - one to two paragraphs of background information for each event. 5. Work samples of artists or presentations are welcomed and may be forwarded on Windows compatible DVD, flash drive, or through a URL for a website link. Please include a description of the work sample and indicate or cue the excerpt you would like the panel to view. If you are using a website link, please be sure to include the URL link with the support materials. 6. For co-presentations - a signed and dated agreement that outlines each partner's contribution in terms of artist fees, marketing, and physical presentation. |
