  Services to the Field

Registration deadline: March 3
Application deadlines: April 1, July 1

This category offers support to organizations that provide professional services to music organizations, artists, and research facilities. Such services may include, but are not limited to, technical assistance in administrative areas, cooperative management, projects that utilize technology, booking and promotional services, regrants, and concerts management. Support is also available for publications that specifically benefit the professional music field or its audience. Funds from this category may cover writers' fees, program costs, and administrative expenses. The project must have a paid administrator.

Application Instructions

The on-line application form includes the following questions, and a project budget. Required support materials are listed below.

Application Narrative Questions

1. Program Summary
Briefly summarize the services your program provides, highlighting new or expanded activities. Also, list the emerging and ongoing national trends in your area of service.

2. Audience
Describe the audience for this service, in terms of users and level of activity. Summarize the selection process, if one is required for participation in the service. If you are a national service organization, state the percentages of service delivered in New York State and give the number of New York State constituents served annually.

3. Delivery
Describe the organization's technical, administrative, and information capacity to deliver the service. If a website, listserv, or other electronic medium is involved, how will it support the service(s) and how will it be maintained?

4. Project Staff
Describe the staff, advisors and consultants providing the service, summarizing their credentials and roles. If selection of project personnel is pending, describe the qualifications of individuals being sought.

5. Marketing
How will you reach your target market for this service?

6. Finances
Describe plans, projects and activities for meeting current and future expenses of this project.

7. Evaluation
Describe your methods for on-going assessment and evaluation. If the proposed project is a one-time event, what are your intended outcomes and how will they be assessed? How are the results of the evaluations used to improve future service provision?

8. Regrant Programs
If you are requesting support for a regrant program, indicate the eligibility and evaluative criteria for applicants, criteria for selection of grantees, minimum/maximum awards, the number of requests and grants for each of the past two years, and the reporting procedure for consultants.
