Recording
(Competitive category) Support is available to nonprofit record companies and ensembles for recording and distribution. Funding in this category is available for the production, packaging, and distribution of the recording. If the applicant has a contract agreement with a commercial label, funding is available for preparation costs up to the studio door. Priority is given to the recording of American works. A minimum run of 1,000 copies must be produced. Note: Applicants may not apply in both Recording and Radio Production and Broadcast categories in the same year. Application Instructions The on-line application form includes the following questions, and a project budget. Required support materials are listed below. Application Narrative Questions 1. Program Summary 2. Focus/Theme 3. Musical Works 4. Artistic Personnel 5. Distribution 6. Rights 7. Project Time Frame 8. Marketing 9. Finances Support Materials Support materials must be postmarked or hand-delivered to the program by the application deadline. If you want support materials returned, please provide a self-addressed stamped envelope. 1. Sample cassette/CD of the performing ensemble. 2. Letter of commitment from the recording company, if applicable. 3. Letter of agreement and release from artists to be recorded, if applicable. 4. Resumés of the producer and key creative personnel. |
Organizations receiving General Operating Support or General Program Support from the Music Program are not eligible for support in this category. |
