  Services to the Field

Registration deadline: March 3
Application deadlines: May 1, July 1, September 5

Funds are available for a variety of projects and activities designed to enhance public understanding of the independent media arts, and for organizational and individual professional development in film and new media. Support is available to projects in a number of areas including opportunities such as conferences, convening, specialized journals, resource guides and services.

Support is available for specialized journals in the form of magazines and periodicals online or in print, for technical writing and diverse critical perspectives covering both contemporary and historical moving-image art, and for works that contribute to the public's appreciation of film and new media. Priority is given to projects that advance the independent media arts.

Conferences and other professional development programs should demonstrate potential to achieve at least one of the following results.

Significance and value to the media arts through adaptable models, research, and development

Expansion of resources and information to under-served communities through networking or partnership efforts

Expansion of new technologies through dialogue and exploration with new tools
