  Rehearsal Space

Registration deadline: February 22, 2011
Application deadline: April 1, 2011

This category is exempt from the Council's three-request limit.

This category supports organizations that provide viable and affordable rehearsal space to dance groups and individual dancers. Priority consideration is given to institutions providing rehearsal space at little or no cost. Applicant organizations should demonstrate how Council assistance would affect the professional dance field. Grants for rehearsal space subsidy may be awarded on a multi-year basis.

This category is intended to support creative rehearsal time and excludes auditions, classes, workshops and showings. In addition, support in this category is intended to assist outside artists and companies; rehearsal time used by the applicant company is not eligible for inclusion.

Prerequisite

Applicants must offer a minimum of 1,000 hours of rehearsal time each year for the period proposed and agree to charge no more than $10 per subsidized rehearsal hour.

Application Instructions

The online application form includes the questions below. Applicants are also required to submit: online Organizational Budget for the current fiscal year, Project Budget (please use the Budget Notes section to detail income and expense items), Cultural Data Project Report and support materials.

First-time applicants are required to call staff before the registration deadline.

6. Support Materials
Please list all of the support materials and/or work samples you are submitting. These materials are critical to your application's assessment.
