January 22, 2010 This category supports organizations that provide viable and affordable rehearsal space to dance groups and individual dancers. Priority consideration is given to institutions providing rehearsal space at little or no cost. This category is intended to support creative rehearsal time and excludes auditions, classes, workshops and showings. In addition, support in this category is intended to assist outside artists and companies; rehearsal time used by the applicant company is not eligible for inclusion. Applicant organizations should demonstrate how Council assistance would affect the professional dance field. Grants for rehearsal space subsidy may be awarded on a multi-year basis. Applicants must offer a minimum of 1,000 hours of rehearsal time each year for the period proposed and agree to charge no more than $10 per subsidized rehearsal hour. Arrangements Service to the Public 5. Marketing Support Materials Support materials must be postmarked or hand-delivered to the program by the application deadline. 1. Copy of advertisement/flyer/brochure promoting the availability of rehearsal space2. List the names and phone numbers of choreographers/companies renting rehearsal space in the most recently completed fiscal year and the current year, to date. Provide the number of hours for each renter and overall totals. If you received support in this category last year, include only those artists participating in the subsidy program. |
