Panelists
In
each discipline, the panel convenes with Staff
present. The panel is composed of a diverse group of
professionals from across the state with specific expertise.
The panel evaluates and rates each request according to the
Council's three primary
criteria. Duties Application materials and staff reviews are presented to peer review panels composed of diverse individuals with specific expertise in the area of that artistic discipline or field, drawn from communities throughout the state. The panel evaluates each request according to council-wide criteria and ultimately rates applications. In carrying out their duties, panelists must follow the Council’s general policies, goals, and criteria that provide the context for panel deliberations. The three primary criteria are Artistic Excellence, Managerial Competence, and Service to the Public. The panelists must also protect panel deliberations from any potential conflict of interest or the appearance of such conflicts.
